All of you have fixed many bugs and issues for us, it's the least we can do. Ok, I checked DPI and by default yast2 is setting it to 1200 on the HP printers. I created a new printer queue configured at 300dpi and tried again. The box around the single line text wiget printed in the same manner, dark and crisp. The group box printed as one single dotted line. Each dot appears to be 1 dot wide by 4-5 dots long.
