The issue, however appears not only in writer but in all OO applications on Linux. I checked it on Windows (XP) and the bug is not seen there. This bug, causes another problem. Hebrew text that includes vowel marks and or cantillation marks can not be properly adjusted to both sides on versions 3.10 and on. If however one makes a global change of "maqaf" to hyphen the adjustment problem disappears. Strangely enough the maladjustment problem does appear in Windows versions of OO as well.
