But these functions work in formulas of a cell. I looked up the OpenOffice help and found that there is a now function of OO Basic as well (but this function does not require "()", this functions works as both "now" and "now()"). Perhaps now works on my system only because OO Basic is able to handle it. It seems that the problem is far more worse at least in the german version. I tried a second calc function: GEOMEAN(number_1; number_2; ... number_30). This function does not work too! Also the corresponding german function GEOMITTEL() does not work in Calc. Its a standard function what does not require an AddIn. On the contrary the function abs(number) works! This function has the same name in the english as well as in the german version. It seems that no one standard Calc function works in the german version of OOO 310m19 as far as the name of this function was changed in the german version!!! If you think that it is really important to translate function names in locale versions then one set of the functions with the original english names should be preserved. Hopefully does Microsoft never get the idea to translate its standard library or .NET functions into german!
