I think the problem cause is another
I've proceed the brochure print test and get the same problem
>From my point of view, as soon as the page format will change to landscape for
printing, the printer takes the tray with DIN A3 paper. And If you haven't a
printer which is able to switch automatically to A3, you'll get a paper with
text overflow.
Otherwise I see no reason for this effeckt by changing the page orientation. 
The worst case should be a page break in case the content doesn't fit.
