OK, now this is a bit confusing but let me start with this:

The wizards started working and I didn't change a thing. Here is what happened:

After my last post, I decided to let go of this issue a bit and just look at my
database, and Base and think about some of the things I wanted to do with the
database. It was late, I was ready for bed (as is the case now :) ), but I
decided I would just do a tools sweep. This is something I do as I become more
comfortable with software application system. I stop, and look at all the
various menu options there are, and facilities available to me for what I am
doing. I drill down and explore the tools. I check out things like what buttons
become available or tool bars, or context menus and I explore options that were
foreign to me. In the long run, I always leave no stone unturned in a software
system. I get to know what everything does. So before I went to bed, I just
decided to forget about the wizards issue and do some exploring.

In my exploring-- again I was tired and it is unclear to me where I came across
this, I came across a menu with some wizards to select. I believe now in
re-exploring tonight that this was the context menu for an arbitrary form item,
but I can't remember for sure. Anyway, it *wasn't* the wizard item that appears
under tasks in the main Base window. I clicked it-- I think it was the report
wizard-- and it opened up immediately. I was taken aback. I almost couldn't
believe it. So I cancelled it, went to the tasks list, and every wizard has come
up since on demand from the tasks list.

So, there is some sort of bug, and I think I found a work around.

I have shut down the db a couple of times and when I bring it back up, the
wizards on the task list work straight away.

For the record, I never installed the development version, and now that the
wizards are working, I won't.

But let me be clear about this, I was really tired and my memory isn't perfectly
clear on what I actually did to get them working. I pieced this story together
tonight in an effort to make a best guess at what I did. But whatever I did,
they are now working...

Thanks for your help. I greatly appreciate it. You can resolve this however you
think is appropriate. Unless the wizards go away again, I am done with this bug
report myself.
