------- Additional comments from ville...@openoffice.org Tue Jun 15 06:39:10 +0000 2010 ------- First of all, I did not file an issue about spreadsheet formatting. The issue is related to spreadsheet values (text/number/error) rather than formatting. The defect (or unwanted new behaviour) is in the Base driver for spreadsheet lists which plays an important role as a mail merge supplier. A numeric spreadsheet column with ="" gets invalidated (all empty) in Base 3.2.1, whereas version 3.1.1 turns all numbers into strings. A numeric spreadsheet column with =1/0 or =NA() shows the errors as zeroes in Base 3.2.1 as well as in 3.1.1. The complete invalidation of a numeric field due to some text value is not acceptable because it irritates too many users who used to use text data with mail merges in previous versions. Mind that the vast majority of mail merges is based on spreadsheet lists. IMHO the conversion from errors to zeroes is questionable but that one does not affect many users. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Please do not reply to this automatically generated notification from Issue Tracker.
