I'm using OpenOffice 3.1.1 under Ubuntu 9.10
I attach:
1. An unformatted table in an OpenOffice document ("Table pasted from PDF.doc")
2. A saved OpenOffice document ("Table formatted with superfluous carriage
returns.doc") in which the table has been reformatted to a single page with each
row in a single paragraph, with paragraphs spaced 0.1cm above and below. When
this document is reopened, it shows many inserted carriage returns (e.g. in the
second paragraph, between "Existing" and "policy" and in two places in the URL.)
3. A screen shot "Table formatted with superfluous carriage returns.png" as it
appears in my OpenOffice (as described in point 2 above).
4. A saved OpenOffice document ("Table reformatted with superfluous carriage
returns deleted.doc) in which the superfluous carriage returns have been deleted
so that it looks the same as the document in 2 above before it was saved and
reopened (i.e. as I intended the document to look).
5. A screen shot "superfluous CRs deleted.png" showing the document described in
4 above as it appears in my OpenOffice. This is also the way that the document
described in 2 appeared before it was saved and reopened.
I have tried a couple of times to replicate this effect, but without success.
