The xls file you attached to the other issue
http://www.openoffice.org/nonav/issues/showattachment.cgi/26600/test1.XLS
already has absolute references, you can see if opened in Excel. There's nothing
Calc could do about. Also, Calc's Lotus import is quite rudimentary and covers
only basic features like values and formulas, so importing the original .123
file will miss some things. We don't put much effort in the Lotus filter but
emphasize on .xls instead.

Note that the Lotus absolute/relative range name feature is a different
philosophy. I don't know Lotus well, but to me that sounds less flexible, for
example, what about mixed references like $A1 you can use in Excel and Calc.
