I increased priority to P2 (maybe even P1 would be appropriate, but I dont know
how widespread this problem is), because in my case, this resulted in
unrecoverable document corruption, which I think is fatal. Luckily I had
backups.
The basic issue is that changing something in the document results in graphics
going crazy after changed position. For example, if I change something on page
2, graphics on page 10 might get corrupted. I have experienced various ways of
corruption, for example, graphics moving on top of each other, captions
disappearing or moving to completely different place, etc. When once corrupted,
I was unable to recover the document, fixing some of the graphics by hand
resulted in other graphics getting corrupted.
I attach a sample document which illustrates what I mean. The most basic thing
triggering this problem I found is as follows:
1. Open the attached document bonustehtavat.bugitesti.sxw
2. There should be 3 pages, with one eps graphics at the end of third page
3. Go to page 2 and select Insert -> Indexes and Tables -> Indexes and Tables
-> OK
4. The eps image has moved from page 3 to page 4
(5. Selecting Edit -> Undo removes the index but doesnt restore the graphics
position)
When working with longer document, this results in chain reaction, and every
time you make changes in the beginning, you need to check that all the graphics
are still in proper places.
