Dear List,

i have recently installed redhat linux 7.2 on my Dell Dimension 8100 and am
trying to get one of the soundcards working. They are a "Creative AudioPCI
(ES1371, ES 1373)(WDM)" and a "Hoontech DSP24 and ADC&DAC2000 (external
8-channel box)". For the moment, i don't mind which works - so long as one of
them does.

I've downloaded, configured and made the alsa-driver-, -libs and -utils but
then i ran into trouble. I ran the ./snddevices script - successfully, i think.
Modprobe returns something like "no such device" when i type "modprobe
snd-card-sb16" or "modprobe snd-sb16".

I've also made and made/installed the modules again. I'm not sure where to go
from here - i assume i'm doing something wrong.
