Hi

I need help in setting up alsa driver on my system. I
needed full duplex capability for my applications and
thus wanted to install the alsa driver for my sound
card.

It is a 82801AA ac97 soundcard. I have compiled the
alsa package and installed as per instructions.
Everyting went well. I added the following lines to my
/etc/modules.conf

alias char-major-116 snd
alias snd-card-0 snd-card-intel8x0
alias char-major-14 soundcore
alias sound-slot-0 snd-card-0
alias sound-service-0-0 snd-mixer-oss
alias sound-service-0-1 snd-seq-oss
alias sound-service-0-3 snd-pcm-oss
alias sound-service-0-8 snd-seq-oss
alias sound-service-0-12 snd-pcm-oss
options snd-card-intel8x0 snd_index=0 snd_id=CARD_0

But then modprobe snd-card-intel8x0 gave the following
error lines:

/lib/modules/2.4.13-1elx/misc/snd-card-intel8x0.o:
init_module: No such device
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module
parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters
/lib/modules/2.4.13-1elx/misc/snd-card-intel8x0.o:
insmod
/lib/modules/2.4.13-1elx/misc/snd-card-intel8x0.o
failed
/lib/modules/2.4.13-1elx/misc/snd-card-intel8x0.o:
insmod snd-card-intel8x0 failed

Can any one help me out.

Thanks and Regards
Sarat
