This solves my first problem. The sound card is now recognized, but I get a bunch of clicks when it starts playing a sound file. The card is reported as a CMI8330/C3D in sndstat, but the cmi8330 driver doesn't seem to load without a soundblaster port. When playing files with aplay I get the following error: aplay: pcm_write:935: write error: Input/output error /dev/asound/sndstat reports the following: Sound Driver:3.8.1a-980706 (ALSA v0.9.0beta10 emulation code) Kernel: Linux baldur 2.4.16-586tsc #1 Wed Nov 28 08:54:15 EST 2001 i586 Config options: 0 Installed drivers: Type 10: ALSA emulation Card config: CMI8330/C3D at 0x534, irq 11, dma 1 Audio devices: 0: CMI8330/C3D Synth devices: NOT ENABLED IN CONFIG Midi devices: NOT ENABLED IN CONFIG Timers: 7: system timer Mixers: 0: mixer00 Any assistance will be appreciated. thanks, -- Bill Thorsteinson [EMAIL PROTECTED] (819) 682-3284 _______________________________________________ Alsa-user mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/alsa-user
