Hi, I'm using a cvs version of alsa (snapshot from about the 16th I think), to connect to my via8233 chip on a msi kt3 ultra motherboard. I got it to play fine, finally (wouldn't work with the non-cvs stuff though). But I can't seem to get it to recognize the mic. I got arecord to record from my cd, but I can't seem to get any sound into the microphone... it doesn't pick anything up in the speakers, and I can't get it to record sound from the microphone.
I have unmuted and turned the mic up in alsamixer. I've also set it to be the capture. But still no pickup. :( Is this a result of the cvs software, or something I've misconfigured, or bad hardware...? something else?
