A big hug to all. Today, after several weeks of
downtime, I finally got my synth + drum machine
to talk to my Linux box.
As was suggested, the problem was my MIDI cable.
I will talk to my local music store (which is
normally helpful + well-informed) about getting
decent cables.
[Off-topic: does anyone recommend a good music
store in the greater Seattle area? American
Music and Guitar Center were of little help.]
