I'm trying to get sound work with AC '97 (AD1981A) on Intel D845ept2 motherboard. I get to the point where gnome mixer starts fine and shows "Analog Devices AD1981A" on the status line, but no sound actually comes out when I try to play a gnome .wav for a .mp3 for xmms (with ALSA plugin selected).
I'm using ALSA 0.9.0rc6 and used intel8x0 and instruction for Intel 440MX simply because I had no idea what the right settings for AC'97/AD1981A would be, so my ALSA related module options are: # ALSA portion alias char-major-116 snd alias snd-card-0 snd-intel8x0 # module options should go here # OSS/Free portion alias char-major-14 soundcore alias sound-slot-0 snd-card-0 # card #1 alias sound-service-0-0 snd-mixer-oss alias sound-service-0-1 snd-seq-oss alias sound-service-0-3 snd-pcm-oss alias sound-service-0-8 snd-seq-oss alias sound-service-0-12 snd-pcm-oss lspci lists this for the audio chip: 00:1f.5 Multimedia audio controller: Intel Corp.: Unknown device 24c5 (rev 01) Subsystem: Intel Corp.: Unknown device 0102 Control: I/O+ Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR- FastB2B- Status: Cap+ 66Mhz- UDF- FastB2B+ ParErr- DEVSEL=medium >TAbort- <TAbort- <MAbort- >SERR- <PERR- Latency: 0 Interrupt: pin B routed to IRQ 11 Region 0: I/O ports at e400 [size=256] Region 1: I/O ports at e080 [size=64] Region 2: Memory at febff800 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=512] Region 3: Memory at febff400 (32-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=256] Capabilities: <available only to root> What should I do? -- Lynoure Rajamaki [EMAIL PROTECTED] ------------------------------------------------------- This sf.net email is sponsored by:ThinkGeek Welcome to geek heaven. http://thinkgeek.com/sf _______________________________________________ Alsa-user mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/alsa-user
