Hi,

if you ever find the right setup for Digi96/8, please mail me, I have the same 
problems, and I've given up, I just work with 2 channels/spdif now with this card. 
(shame on me).

Personally I think it's weird, there should be a toggle in /etc/asound...  which makes 
it either ADAT of SPDIF.

Having two devices, and writing to either hw:0,0 or hw:0,1 change the data format is 
confusing.
