[Alsa-user] Live 5.1 problems

I'm using Gentoo 1.4 and kernel 2.4.20 and kernel 2.4.22. I compiled alsa 
driver, utils and pcm, versions n.º0.9.2, but when i try to start emu10k1- 
script, i get the following error:

SOUND_MIXER_PRIVATE3: You're probably using an older incompatible dirver: 
Invalid argument

I still get sound (great sound actually) but my rear speakers from my 5.1 
5100 creative speakers don't have sound. Anyone knows what the problem is?
