Hello List,
Having got a lovely surround system for christmas I was slightly dissapointed
to discover that sound would not come out my two rear speakers, but would out
my front 3 and sub. I realise the information is extremely vague, but is this
a known issue and if not, is there a remedy?
For those interested, I'm using s Soundblaster Live! 5.1 Digital and a set of
Logitech Z-640 speakers.
I just remembered something. There's a mixer control called "SB Live Analog/Digital Output Jack". I think this switches the little black connector (rear output) between analog and digital. Try setting this to "Off" in alsamixer and making sure that the "Wave Surround" control is turned up. You may also have to hit the little "Matrix" button on the front control panel of the Z-640, I'm not sure.
Hope that helps. Now I just wish I could figure out this confusing asound.conf file!!!
