i was wrong. its a pnp card, and it shows up nicely in /proc/isapnp. I just tried compiling the alsa-driver with isapnp=no and it still didn't work. The module wouldn't load. I also tried reenabling isapnp, and re-compiling kernel w/o pnp support. I started over (slackware-current) with default kernel and default alsa-1.02. Again, the module loads fine and evrything shows up in lsmod, but when i run alsamixer I get that error: -- ALSA lib control.c:654:(snd_ctl_open_noupdate) Invalid CTL default alsamixer: function snd_ctl_open failed for default: No such file or directory -- Oh yeah , I ran the snddevices script too. thanks for any pointers, -- paul ------------------------------------------------------- SF.Net is sponsored by: Speed Start Your Linux Apps Now.
