Oddly enough I don't seem to be able to repeat it.
I was running KDE at the time so there may have been an interaction.

Couldn't see it as I was in KDE.
When I tried it form the console, no crash.
In fact, we seem to have recorded 12 channels. Doesn't really look
like audio though, more like noise. Can't hear it as it doesn't seem to want
to play. Complains about the number of channels being "non" available,
although it recorded ok with 12.

I can, but it will take a few days to configure and build the kernel.

I will work wityh it a bit more. Whats your call on the channels, it is
supposed to be 10 channel. It won't record with -c10.
