do you have specific experience that suggests this to you? are you saying these devices are like winmodems? i'm trying to figure out how much is supported by the "standard" USB audio protocol that's referred to on the alsa h/w compatibility matrix page: http://www.alsa-project.org/alsa-doc/ the implication is that if a device is "standards compliant" then it will "just work". and the turtle beach "audio advantage" device is listed on that page, in white, which i _think_ means it's supported correctly.
