ISF XIII Men's World Championship - Team Canada Roster FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE October 15, 2012 Softball Canada Announces Roster for 2013 ISF Men's World Softball Championship (Ottawa, ON) Less than a month after qualifying for the event by winning the Gold medal at the Pan American Championship in Medellin, Colombia, Softball Canada is pleased to announce the list of players who will represent the Canadian Men's National Team at the ISF XIII Men's World Championship, which will take place from March 1-10, 2013in Auckland, New Zealand. The tournament will feature sixteen (16) countries that will be competing for the title of World Champions. 'The coaching staff is very excited about this team' said Men's National Team Head Coach Don Bates. 'We have plenty of pitching and hitting depth, very solid defence and great speed. Our goal is to be a very difficult team to play against at the World Championship and to force our opponents to make mistakes.' Canada's roster features six players returning from the Bronze medal winning team at the 2009 ISF XII Men's World Championship held in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, as well as ten players who competed at the VIII Men's Pan American Championship last month.
