Then you're doing a whole lot better tham I am. :-)

Amanda does not use password authentication between hosts. It trusts
you to have your host names and IP addresses properly configured, to
have the programs installed properly (setuid root) and to have set up
.amandahosts in the Amanda user home directory on the client to allow
access from the server.

Well, I suppose it could be more explicit and say that amandad is not
going to be in your default PATH so you'll have to give it the complete
path. For instance on my systems it would be /opt/amanda/libexec/amandad.

You either need to install all of Amanda just like you did on the server,
or else you can reduce the size a little and add --without-server on
./configure when you do the client. IMO, this is not worth the effort.

No offense intended, but I guess most folks figure it's obvious that
you need to install Amanda to be able to run Amanda. :-)

And you need to install more than just amandad. As mentioned above,
you pretty much need to do the same thing you did on the server.

It's self evident (just kidding :-).

No, they don't need any configuration files other than .amandahosts as
I mentioned above.

Feel free to write up the necessary changes and post them.
