One other idea. If you trust me to do it, I've built some versions of
sst and made them ftp available:

  ftp://gandalf.cc.purdue.edu/pub/amanda/sst-2.4.2-Sol2.6
  ftp://gandalf.cc.purdue.edu/pub/amanda/sst-2.4.2-Sol7-32
  ftp://gandalf.cc.purdue.edu/pub/amanda/sst-2.4.2-Sol7-64

When I find a Solaris 8 system with the SUNWspro compiler, I'll add that
to the list.

Of course, you need to rename these "sst" after you download the
appropriate version. And you still need to follow the rest of the README
notes, e.g. putting the 64 bit version in the right /usr/kernel location.
