Yeah definitely.  I suspect, though, that the qt snapshot is tarred
via gtar and not Sun's.  This is where I have seen problems as well.

Is anyone working on a dump equivalent for reiserfs?

Tar definitely sucks in this respect.  At my last job I had to use
tar for some SAMBA backups.  Definitely slowed things down a lot.
