As I said, I'm just guessing based on a quick read of the code, but I
think if you had enough holding disk for the largest image you'll get
from PC, it will do what you want.
In any case, if you've got the disk, it would certainly be worth testing
at least once. If it doesn't help, you haven't lost anything since you
can grab the holding disk space back.
