Personally I would dislike this behavior. Often when I am recovering a few files it is for an immediate need. I may have people breathing down my neck. Literally standing behind me :) I don't know about your changer, but to have the changer step through all the tapes takes several minutes. I "know" what tapes are there and can get the right one in position very quickly. Those wasted minutes would just raise the tension level. Also, I've had at least on case where amrecover had to be done on a non- changer device when it had been made on a changer device. amrecover did not bat an eye. jon -- Jon H.
