Correct. Or, possibly more accurately, because the tape "may" be eventually reused. The amadmin command allows you to mark specific tapes as "no-reuse". You might do this, for instance, if they have been taken off site for protected storage and you want Amanda to skip over them if they happen to come up in the cycle again. John R.
