OK, what about this for a concept: * We pass a string which identifies the set (ie, the Config name) from the server to the client * The client appends this to the GNUTAR_LISTED_INCREMENTAL_DIR arg passed to gnutar. Potentially other dump programs could make use of this info too, so the enhancement isn't *completely* gnutar-specific. If someone *does* decide down the track to pull the GNUTAR_LISTED_INCREMENTAL_DIR into amanda.conf, this change would happily coexist with it, too. Does anyone see any reason why this isn't feasible? Would a patch to implement this have half a chance of being accepted into the amanda codebase? -- Phil Homewood, Systems Janitor, http://www.SnapGear.com [EMAIL PROTECTED] Ph: +61 7 3435 2810 Fx: +61 7 3891 3630 SnapGear - Custom Embedded Solutions and Security Appliances
