I have read in the documentation that Amanda uses smbclient to connect to windows hosts.
I am going to install (well, if all goes well, that is ;-) ) Amanda on an Open Suse 10.2 the day after tomorrow; I know Novell have dropped smb support from the kernel. Does anyone know whether there are any pitfalls if SMB support is not compiled in in the Linux kernel as far as Amanda is concerned ? TIA Bert
