Encryption is not supported in the Community version of ZWC. It is only supported in the Enterprise version. This is the reason why ZWCService is crashing when a request for encrypted backup is sent by the Amanda server. I have been trying to research this, and I found some instructions, but I keep getting “connection reset by peer”. The two folders who aren’t using encryption work, so I believe my Amanda.conf file is correct. I have a cert installed as the user backup in the personal store and the trusted root. It is a self signed cert, and I have our CA cert installed as well. The friendly name on the cert is ZWCCert, though it has never been in the drop down box. When I open the ZWC Config Utility (With Run as Administrator) on the advanced tab the certificate does not stay between closing it (after saving and restarting the service) and reopening it. I haven’t been able to find a registry setting about the certificate either. Any help would be appreciated… Thanks! April R.
