Two notes on my experiments building and installing the zmanda debian packages. Specifically amanda-backup-server 3.5.1.git.19364c7b-1Debian99 amd64. Thanks to Nathan Stratton Treadway <natha...@ontko.com> for helping me debug these issues.
* Additional dependencies: libencode-locale-perl libjson-perl libxml-simple-perl smbclient Actually, I'm fine with not having amanda dependent on smbclient. But you do need it to build the debian packages. * The package installs amanda-security.conf in /etc/amanda. It should go to /etc. -- "When we talk of civilization, we are too apt to limit the meaning of the word to its mere embellishments, such as arts and sciences; but the true distinction between it and barbarism is, that the one presents a state of society under the protection of just and well-administered law, and the other is left to the chance government of brute force." - The Rev.
