when you say "restart amavis manually", how do you restart it? do you use the init script or do you use the amavisd command directly? if the latter, try using the init script and see if you get the same behaviour (just to make sure that the init script is not using a different configuration). also, make sure that amavisd is not using the wrong resolver when started at boot time. is amavisd chrooted when started at boot but not chrooted when you start it manually? ... etc. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Microsoft Defy all challenges.
