Please, not another systemd flamewar.

Amavis-new (and clamd) worked with Centos 7 and systemd out-of-the-box. No special assistance needed. Firewall rules in firewall-cmd are easy to do. No flames need apply.

It's offtopic here anyway. Same for SELinux.

I needed a couple pieces of SELinux rules for other services, like Dovecot and Roundcubemail. Since I did those before Amavis, I can't tell if amavis needs any SELinux help, but it is working for me with SELinux enforcing.

Any needed SELinux rules would be ontopic. Enough said on the subject.

If you move from Centos5 to Centos7, you save yourself one upgrade.

BUT:
Centos7 uses systemd. That can be a huge PITA.

So, if you never used Centos7 before and are in a hurry, go to Centos6.
If you already know Centos7, go there.
systemd has not been a PITA for me. Basic services work out of the
box. Just a few new commands to learn. Unless the OP is using VMs, and
only that to some extent do you really have to deal with it.

SELinux can be a bigger challenge to learn what the magic incantation is
for a specific usage.

Good evening all

We have been running Postfix/Cyrus/Amavis on CentOS for over 10 years.

Now we are faced with upgrading from CentOS 5 due to EOL. Choices
are CentOS 6 and 7. Comments as to best choice would be greatly
appreciated.
