Bram de Kruijff commented on AMDATU-416:
----------------------------------------

The number of lines of code that actually still use thus has been significantly
reduces over time. See comments below. I will spawn a few specific issues and
close this.

> 1) Some component use it 'work' dir while other create a 'work' diretcory in
> this dir

These platform component have been either removed or refactored to use bundle
storage.

> 2) A lost of components have same code for determining the work dir

The platform currently only uses amdatu.dir in the warsupport library, but the
war release is broken. Will create separate issue to address that.

> 3) Should configManagement not fix this for us anyway?

* Yes, configuration Management must be primary source of application
configuration
* Multi-Tenancy will transparently scope to distinct storage locations when
using bundle storage
* Storage should be done using bundle storage ensuring maximum compatibility
* Maybe, we need a few context APIs to provide applications with runtime info
(use cases?)

> For war deployment a "amdatu.dir" property was introduced that is
> (in)consistently used for determining the root home/work dir. A few notes:
> 1) Some component use it 'work' dir while other create a 'work' diretcory in
> this dir
> 2) A lot of components have same code for determining the work dir
> 3) Should configManagement not fix this for us anyway?
