Ara,

Thanks. I mainly use hourly bars...So I changed the refresh from 5 secs to 15
and CPU has come down drastically...It still spikes but only every 15secs...
Thanks again.

I am gonna try TJ and Herman's suggestion about finding out AFL execution times
to see what module is causing this CPU hog.

Thanks again for your help.

Cheers,Padhu

The chart refresh setting should be 1 (second), for the fastest refresh. If
some of your charts are in separate windows and you don't need fast refresh,
use a higher number.

Also set Preferences -> Miscellaneous -> Display chart timing to see how long
your charts take to compute and display. You may be able to improve the code to
work faster. (Use this only for debug).

So as soon as I set to ZERO, Machine just FROZE. It stays at 100 unlike
earlier where it was spiking between 80-100.

Thanks Jerry. I will try that. So how frequently does the chart refresh
when this is set to zero?.

      Thanks.

        Hello,

Yes same problems here. Try Tools>Preferences>Intraday>RealTime Chart
refresh interval [sec] 0 as in zero. It will cut the cpu to 50% has
worked
in past. Problem is charts in fast market do not refresh very fast.

I use esignal realtime datafeed ...base chart interval is 1min...so not
        tickdata per se..

I ran msconfig and stopped unwanted services.

even if i shutdown all other apps, ab 4.90 soaks the cpu.

Are you working with real time tick data? If yes, that could be
normal ... also you may have some background jobs that windows is
running

        Folks:

Attached is the task manager output when Amibroker 4.90.5
is runnning. It always spikes back and forth and stays very high near
        90-100% . process shows broker.exe spiking.
I have only 6 charts attached.

I have noticed this in the past when I had indicators
attached to more than 8 charts. Now I have only 6 six. Other than 1 ,
all
other indicators are all fairly simple...no looping etc..But uses
timeframe
        expands from daily etc.

        I have intel p4 2GHz cpu with 768MB ram.

        anyone else seeing this?.

        Thanks,Padhu
