Here's what you need to do:
Start Miami, click on Database.
Select User from the options that appear at the top (a clickable
menu) to verify what the user name is that you use for Miami.
Now select IdentD from the same options at the top of the Database
window. You'll note that every entry has the user name "root" right
now.
Change the user field of every entry you find there to read your user
name that you found when you checked User.
Save as default.
You will now be able to get on all of the IRC servers that you
couldn't before and you won't have to worry about the IdentD option in
AmIRC.
The alternative is to disable every entry in Miami's IdentD database,
but since you then won't be able to use many other services, you're
better off just changing the user name to your username from root.
