Lag is the delay in transferring data to/from you and is a function of
the load upon the servers between you and the irc network, including
your ISP's server. It is neither created nor alleviated by AmIRC. The
amount of lag experienced is independent of the IRC client you use.

Have you some special ARexx script or configuration of AmIRC to cause it
to close Miami? AmIRC doesn't tell Miami(DX) to quit here... I quit
AmIRC without quitting Miami(DX) often.

I have not experienced this. I suspect it could be as you suspect or it
could be the font(s) you've specified for use in AmIRC or it could be
that you have not registered MUI, in which case it will not save your
settings across reboots.
