Yes I did know.. However if you are using colours and bold it is easier to
apply changes after writing text.
BTW. using crtl+b is how I tested to see if the problem was related purely
to highlighting to add bold.
Incidently the problem applies to all style attributes (with the exception
of colours) ie bold underline or reverse.
