Dont type /silence +*!*@*
That will just stop you from hearing Anything at all.
i have my F5 key setup as /ignore *!*@* CTCP\n
and my F6 key setup as /unignore *!*@*\n
So i can just toggle ctcp ignore off and on with F5 and F6, You can set this
up in the Setup if you want, under FKeys.
Also, in AmIRC3.2+, goto the Setup window and click on Misc, you can set how
many CTCP's in how many seconds should trigger off an ignore.
Kuang Eleven (AmIRC script) has a feature in the latest version
(auto-updated from the aminet archive) that will ignore all CTCPS in a
flood, and the flood rates are configurable..
