Easier said then done.

As for easy, then send the source code here. :)

To design a good one would not be easy and unlikely by most people.
I have seen numerous designs, graphical and worded explainations. The nick
situation is not a easy one. On off gadgets then entering details etc
would mean certain problems for low end users (Screen space) which always
has to be taken into consideration otherwise complaints of a large number
will come in.

I have read it and it all can be dealt with better with proper
configuration or a script.

yeah then you get people who hate that idea.. Aka myself. Sorry I dont want
to join channel #AmigaZone on arcnet or #ibeta on oz.org silly idea.
thats why the prefs of what channels you join. Set them in the prefs or
specify them in the string you put in.

If you want to carry over channels from what your on now to the next
server.. write an arexx script to grab the list of channels wait until you
online again and then send a join command to those channels you are not
that you were on previously. A lot of people would hate it because they
would find themselves joning channels on other nets they dont want to join.
As for prefs options.. again.. as stated above.. its a decent sized job.
(to put it mildly)

Im not against a better gui for the prefs. The problem is that:

A) Its not small. Dont expect overnight changes.
B) if it was to change, there is wanted features.
C) Other things need attention. Like copy speed, speed of tabs, a better
popup menu, bug squashing, help bubbles <wink>, MimePrefs(its been waiting
for over a year now for a major overhawl), DCC MOVE, etc etc etc..

>> That is there. Right mouse button over the channel name when joined,
>> and enable conference mode.
> No, it's not what I'm after.
> First of all, conferance mode don't suppress all of the info.
> Second, it's not configureable at all!

Write an API. Might be the next best thing since sliced bread,
as no-one better knows to make what you want then you. :)

Catcha..
