This is because when you dcc send something amirc sends the IP and a port
to the remote machine to connect back to you. The problem is your router
is not routing the correct port (ones amirc uses) back to the machine
that sent the request.

It listens on 'default' ports... you need to tell the router what ports to
listen to and where to foward them.. and then etll amirc what ports to use
for dcc sending.

LONG ago Olli added suport for TIA for me. This allows AmIRC to dcc out
behind another machine/router. You need to set the env TIADCC. Currently I
am behind a router with 4 machine with 1 static IP. You have to tell the
router to redirect an incoming range of ports to the machine running
AmIRC.. once that is done set TIADCC to <your IP> <top port> <bottom
port>. Like: 206.184.206.246 16384 32768 .. This way when AmIRC sends a
dcc send .. it will send the IP and a port from a selected range that your
router will now where to send when it gets a request.
Long _long_ ago I did a faq for TIA .. has a overview of TIADCC
http://www.vgr.com/tia/20.html ..good luck :)
