Jim, I would highly recommend going to a lumber yard (Home Depot) and buy a sheet of styrofoam insulation board. Cut and form around the unit to be shipped.

Great idea Dave if someone near you can do it. In rural Oklahoma, wood chips is the only thing available except bubble wrap from Wal-Mart.

Not to make fun of rural Oklahoma, but it is a funny, strange place.

If you haven't noticed, then, see how most if not all electronic equipment is packed - with preformed or molded styrofoam not bubble wrap or peanuts. Case closed!
