Around major metropolitan areas there are many old time vhf AM operators.
Usually with old rigs they couldn't sell! Here in SE Alabama, it is hard to
get FM 2 and 6 meter contacts- even the repeaters are quiet.
However, I leave the Am rigs on 50.4 and 145. The superregen will hear
anything close.
