Just thought I'd mention a connections between the Belton Hamfest and NEAR-Fest that isn't readily-apparent. Attending both will be Neil Kaltman, K6SMF from California along with his wife (Arlene, IIRC). Neil is giving a DXing workshop at NEAR-Fest. They left 6 Land a while ago heading east stopping first at Belton, then heading up this way. So you get first dibs on the goodies.
Neil is a former Navy corpsman, wounded in action several times in Viet Nam (Navy provides the medics for the Marine Corp for those who wonder what a swabbie corpsman was doing on land). His table has a lot of good radio parts for sale, things like roller inductors, air variables, switches and so on. He'll be easy to spot. His wife gets around in a scooter chair with a red sign on the back that says 'Rotten Ol' Lady". She'll be easy to spot as well, and is not the least bit bashful. If you see them and feel so inclined, stop by and say hello. Even if they have nothing of interest to you, prices too high, stuff too heavy, etc, they are wonderful folks who enjoy amateur radio and appreciate the chance to participate in these events. ~ Todd, KA1KAQ ______________________________________________________________ Our Main Website: http://www.amfone.net AMRadio mailing list List Rules (must read!): http://w5ami.net/amradiofaq.html List Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/amradio Help: http://mailman.qth.net/mmfaq.html Post: mailto:AMRadio@mailman.qth.net To unsubscribe, send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the word unsubscribe in the message body.
