Regarding the Extra exam, I found it more of an IQ test than a meaningful ham radio test. Some of the questions were of dubious value in my opinion in determining how well versed you were about amateur radio.
I got my first Extra in 1953 when the questions seems to be meaningful and I had to copy 20 WPM of code groups. Then I did an incredibly stupid thing: I let it run out. The second time around was perhaps 10 years or so ago and it was at that time that the test seemed so weird to me. - Jim W4ENE ______________________________________________________________ Our Main Website: http://www.amfone.net AMRadio mailing list Searchable Archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/amradio@mailman.qth.net/ List Rules (must read!): http://w5ami.net/amradiofaq.html List Home: http://mailman.qth.net/mailman/listinfo/amradio Post: AMRadio@mailman.qth.net To unsubscribe, send an email to amradio-requ...@mailman.qth.net with the word unsubscribe in the message body.
