Hi, I think the suggestion is still valid, the "alternative" proposal, being at the band edge, may be useful to minimize any possible interference. The attached pictures might help
The E6 band is located between 1260-1300MHz, centered at 1278.75MHz, it is not an Aeronautical Radio Navigation Service (ARNS) band, GPS is not broadcasting its signal in that band also. Anyway, E6 band is dedicated to commercial services (CS) and that must be taken into account.
