XP Service pack 3, 32 bit - Did you *ever* install an android USB driver before? No, My HTC Magic is my first android phone, It runs 1.5 so I only tried the 1.5 drivers, windows doesn't recognize the device nor that the drivers are for it. However, windows does detect the storage capabilities of the device - When you plug the device and go to the Device Manager, is it listed as unknown or as an adb device? Neither, "HTC android phone USB" and "Generic Volume" are the two things added to the device list when I plug my phone in. The first appearing under "Disk Drives" the second appearing under "Storage volumes" - Did Windows ever prompt you about installing a driver for an unknown device? Nope, never.
