Well, as with any competition they are bound to be losers and winners.
Just because you lost does not mean its the end of the road. You need
not put the blame on google for its mismanagement(?? :) ) . Android is
a good platform and makes mobile development easier( Believe me, a
symbian developer ). My application is a little utility that handles
the favorites from the contacts. It is not very basic nor complex. But
i am able to finish it in a week(yes, rite bfore the deadline :) ).
That speaks something about the platform. It needs a little polish
though, very acceptable for a platform that has no real phones on the
market yet :).

Maybe you can take your ideas forward. With the fragmentation of
mobile platforms it is not easy. But, if it is a great idea maybe it
is worth it.

Hope, all the loser apps(pun intended), dont go for waste. It would be
very helpful for the developers if google itself maintains a
repository for the applications. If the judges did not find them
useful, maybe the users will. And a little feedback to all the
agony( abuse ? ) from developers would go a long way to cool the poor
souls. We did spend sometime with our little apps. They dont deserve
to be orphans.

Regards,
Eswar Malla.
