There is a thread that details what you have to do to get your phone activated, essentially it entails moving beyond the dumb bunnies who answer the phone at Verizon and getting to one who can actually think, a tough thing to do. Be persistent, ask for a supervisor and don't take no for an answer. Once you get a thinking person on the phone, it only takes a few seconds to get past this problem.
